Dr. Sarit Bensimhon-Peleg is a researcher and program director in the Local Government Project at the Chazan Center of the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute. She is the former academic director of the Harold Hartog School of Government and Policy at Tel Aviv University (2007–2014). Until recently she was the Measurement and Evaluation Officer at Yad Hanadiv (a Rothschild family philanthropic trust). She is one of the founding members of the Shaharit think tank.

Her dissertation focuses on the justification of universal human rights in a multicultural world and the tension between universalist and particularistic arguments.
